This Holiday Season…. We Have No Appetite for Starving Artists
It’s been an action packed and seed planting year for us at Revolutionize Hollywood.
We continue to develop and push forward our movement and brand to elevate Independent Artists as entrepreneurs.
As a group of ARTreprenuers, we stay busy doing what every ARTrepreneur does including, knocking on doors, fund raising, paying dues, organizing and continuing to create and perfect our craft! Click here to learn more about the movement.
We Love the Business of Entertainment
THE BIG 7
Let’s face it there are a massive number of artists who will never work at the BIG 7 studios or land a major recording deal.
What should they do? They should NOT change career paths. They should change their career approach.
Community Colleges Get It!
Through our ArtTrepreneur Program, we will partner with one prestine community college in the City of Los Angeles to develop the Artrepreneur boot camp curriculum. This boot camp is designed to prep students on how to navigate entrepreneurship career paths in entertainment and media. #socool
Hollywood Chamber of Commerce
Why we decided to join?
Not being a part of mainstream Hollywood, we knew we needed better insight of what the heck was really going on in Hollywood. We needed to kick the door down and be included at the table? #wehere
We love the Chamber, we really do. We introduced Revolutionize Hollywoodduring a focused meeting with the President and VP of the Chamber. They expressed keen interest as to the project’s effectiveness and committed to help market and promote our company. Standby, Chamber our BIG ask is coming soon. Boom
We Impact All Independent Artists
First up, street performing Artists
We often get the question are all street performers buskers and pan handlers?
Our definition we use to describe Street Performers is that they are Independent Artists who use creative expressions on the streets to subsidize their income and put action into making their dreams come true. They refuse to sit back and wait.
It is time to elevate!
Revolutionize Hollywood is pushing to raise the professional standards, certify and provide elevated visibility to the infamous Hollywood Street Characters through our Elevated Street Performers Project.
In doing so we will help defuse conflict and bring clarity about the legal rules and regulations of the right to perform and accept money as a street performer. We will also provide elevated visibility and more performances opportunities. #nostarvingartist
Things Get Political
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES 13TH DISTRICT:
A motion was filed to implement permits to establish a zone incorporating the regulation of first amendment expressive activity in Hollywood. If implemented there is a chance that only 20 permits will be given each day which will eliminate the majority of performers. These rumors have resulted in street performers feeling desperate and a rise in escalated tension.
We have new projects. We have live theater goals.
We make sense.
We have organized a community outreach group of artists.
We now have legal representation with an attorney from the Cochran firm.
We spoke at City Hall during a city council meeting to voice our concerns about the city’s motion to place mandates on street performers and there lack of support for Independent Artists. KTLA 5
Most recently we presented our research and a plan to District 13 in Los Angeles County to ask for support. to launch in Hollywood and are asking City councilman Mitch O’Farrell to support our Elevated Street Performers Project.
Revolutionize Hollywood is aligned with councilman Mitch O’Farrell's agenda.
“I WANT TO SEE EVERY CORNER OF HOLLYWOOD PROSPER AND EVOLVE INTO SAFE, VIBRANT CORRIDORS. THAT MEANS I WILL NEGOTIATE ADDITIONAL LIVE THEATER SPACE ALONG SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD AND WHEREVER ELSE IT MAKES SENSE AS NEW PROJECTS ARE PROPOSED. IN THE MEANTIME I AM WORKING TO IMPROVE THE LOOK, WALK ABILITY, AND SAFETY OF THE AREA.”
