How do you differ from your brand?

 
 

Your lifestyle as an Artrepreneur will be interpreted in many ways depending on the relationship of the person who sits on the other end of the interpretation.  It is up to you to understand the perception versus YOUR reality.  It is just as important that you are comfortable and confident with your true current reality.

Your reality is not necessarily your brand and vice versa, your brand is not necessarily your reality.   This can be a cumbersome distinguishment because oftentimes the very nature of the entertainment industry is to create or distort reality.  That is what we do best.  Right?  Yes!

You must be able to separate where you are versus the image you are creating as a professional.  

Example:

Take a 32 year old rock star for example.  His brand put him in nightclubs on the weekends and his image on videos looks a lot like a stereotypical rock star lifestyle, oozing with booze and a sea of women.

His reality is that he is married with a 2 year old son, he enjoys spending time with his wife and child as much as possible.  His reality is that he does not want to loose his family to his rock star brand.

Your lifestyle as an Artrepreneur will be interpreted in many ways depending on the relationship of the person who sits on the other end of the interpretation.  It is up to you to understand their perception versus your reality.  

Be careful that you are in tune with your true reality versus your professional brand and the perception that you are creating.  In many cases you will be the brand.  Be sure that you understand the social and cultural climate of the industry and you have a clear distinction of the social and cultural climate of your personal life and where the two may intersect.

Although brand building, self- marketing, networking and follow ups are your keys to kickstarting a successful Artrepreneur career; understanding how to extract both mainstream and underground trends and “make them your own” is an important step in properly building a healthy brand identity as an Artrepreneur.
